Geranium pratense var. albiflorum - Powdery mildew?

Hi there

I planted three Plkenum Album, in a partially shaded border, well drained, well watered and they look like this. Any ideas why and what i can do?

I just cut all the foliage off and they grow fresh from the base.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
