Can anyone save my young cherry tree?

Hi! I bought this little kojo no mai a couple of months ago, and in the last week most of its leaves have gone brown and curled up! There’s no obvious signs of any serious insect infestation. It has rained a lot recently so I’m unsure if it’s just overwatered, but would expect the leaves to be yellow if that was the case. Can anyone help? Shall I remove the dead leaves? Is it saveable?!
