Help! - bindweed!

Hi guys, I’ve got a real problem with bindweed in my garden! Any tips on keeping it at bay?? It’s popping up everywhere and it feels like I’m forever pulling them up but they’re coming quicker than I can manage them and they’re strangling my plants and veggies! I haven’t been in my house long and the garden was very overgrown with brambles/bindweed/ivy and for the most part it’s much better but the bindweed is a stubborn one! In past gardens I’ve managed it with thick tarp but there’s a lot of established plants and veggies so not really an option here. Also it turns out my well meaning 86 year old neighbour two doors up has been letting this plant grow all through her garden and she’s adamant it’s a pretty vine she bought from the shops 🙈 And don’t get me wrong it’s not an ugly vine but it’s invasive and strangling everything it touches! I’m concerned it’ll always be a losing battle if it’s flowering in my neighbours gardens and spreading it’s seeds every time it flowers! Any help will be appreciated thank you

Great thank you! I wasn’t sure if I should post it in the problem solving section I might have seen it if I’d chosen that one! Thanks I’ll check it out :)

On the main page if you search for bindweed there are approx 1000 postings so there should be something that's helpful.
It's definately a long term project think years rather than months!
