Identifying mystery plant

This plant seeded itself in gravel, can anyone identify it please. It has very pale pink flowers.



From the young plant also in gravel, that I dug up, it is apparent that it has a long tap root.

    We have that as an aquatic plant in our pond, but have also grown it in the veggie patch for salads.  Now there's not that many plants that you can do that with.  (Waits for an avalanche of posts that say there are loads of others.....)
