Portuguese Laurel Hedge

Dear All,
Firstly, Many thanks for any advice you may have regarding this issue. We have Portuguese laurel hedging that has been down for 2 years approx. Only in the last few weeks, alot of the foliage has started to curl and twist and look almost variagated. We arent sure what to do so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I dont know what causes that but it seems to be ok now, good top growth, would it be possible to cut off the damaged stalks, or does the damage go right down to the bottom.
they do grow again from cutting right down, we sawed some off to completely ground level and it was shooting out in no time.

I agree with Lyn, the new growth is not affected, so you can just prune them out. Most likely aphid damage or caterpillar damage when the leaves were young. Your plants should be able to get through that.
