My friend questioned the colour of my oaks new leaves. Should they be red in colour or is it a disease?

The oaks in my own garden sometimes have a different colour to freshly produced leaves and I thought it was just natural and not a disease. There are a number plants that will have different colours or shades to their leaves when they are first produced.
