Tipping new dahlia plants

I have just planted two new dahlias in pots,Pooh and Karma Lagoon, one already has a flower bud, they are about 16 inches tall now, should I remove the flower bud and pinch out the dahlias to encourage a more bushy plant and more flowers, if so is now a good time to do it.

If they are not already branched, pinching out will make them bushier. Sacrifice the flower now for more later.
