Please help identify this plant -thanks

Well, I can't decide if this is a "Stipa" or "Carex", your assistance please.

    Hi I really can't decide if these grasses are "Stipa" or "Carex", can you help please.
  • My money's on Carex. It doesn't look like Stipa gigantea, which has wider leaves, and it looks too coarse for Stipa tenuissima. Obviously, there are other stipas but if you didn't buy it from a grass specialist I think it looks more like a carex.

    Stipa tenuissima is a bit more upright too.  My money is also on a Carex

    Carexes have solid stems, and they're usually triangular, so it's easy enough to check.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
