Who poop in my garden

Have found this a couple of times right in the middle of the grass, when I pick it up in bag it feels very hard, would not think it is a cat, That is a rose petal across it.

That rose petal across the poop looks like a very delicate attention from the "pooper", whoever they are. ;)

That could well be from a good -sized hedgehog ...

🤔 possibly a bit constipated? perhaps a shallow dish of fresh water left out in your garden might help matters.

  • OK, will leave a dish water out this evening,

    Although there are ponds
and puddles in this neighbourhood, and we’re not far from marshes, our visiting hedgehogs always have a long drink from the fish of water we out out for them. I think particularly at this time of year when the sows are suckling young, they can get quite thirsty.

Is there a particular reason you think it is not cat poo? Looks like it too me.

One way to confirm if it is hedgehog poo, is you might notice bits of beetles in it.
  • Don't think it is cats, they usually do it on the garden and cover it, this is right in the middle of the lawn, just had my daughter over with her two collies, and they were sniffing like mad all over the garden, as if there has been something 'new'
When it appears again will try and 'inspect' it a bit more, :)

What about this one, which was found this morning near the pond.  Looks like it has been gorging itself on cherries and had rather too many.

Not sure I'm picking up the scale from the picture, but it is common around here for fox poo to be laden with fruit pips.

My thought was fox. Around here they eat the cherries and then leave similar presents.

Thank you both, Gemma and Fidgetbones.  We thought it could be fox, too much for hedgehog, and although we have two cats roaming often through the garden can't imagine it belongs to either of them!
