Does anyone have any idea what this shrub is?

Hi,

Does anyone have any idea what this shrub/small tree could be? It's been hidden for years under a large tree that's now been removed and I've been trying to find out what it is but cant find anything that looks like it online? It has strange sort of flat buds on it.

If anyone's got any idea I'd love to know! Thank you

@Hostafan1 Hi, thank you!  and thank you for your suggestion I'll have a look into Viburnum Tinus, I'd just like to know what it is so that we can give it proper care. I think its been under the tree for so long so its spent years in shade.

If it is a tinus they are quite happy in shade and usually will regrow easily if cut down

The more I look at it, I'm not sure it's "tinus".
Have you noticed it in winter? Does it hold onto the leaves , or do they drop?

I've not been able to see it very closely until now as it was quite hidden but i think it does keep its leaves in winter I've never noticed it bare.

Yes Viburnum...with berries forming
but not Viburnum tinus...berries ripen blueish, purple

Maybe Viburnum  x burkwoodii?..berries ripen red.
