Dahlia

Hi, I planted 3 dahlia tubers a couple of months back (maybe March) in pots then into ground when frost risk had gone. But only one of my tubers is growing foliage and the other 2 haven’t. They all had roots growing when I planted them In the border and Recently I dug one up in the border and it still has roots but no shoots. What’s happening? They’ve been in the ground now for about 8/9 weeks I think.

Slugs! Or snails. They eat the shoots as soon as they put their heads above the parapet and you never see the going of them. Get the organic slug pellets out or give them some slug pubs for 'Liberation Day'!

Was there not a decent amount of foliage on them in the pots before planting in the ground?
