What to do with lupin

WilderbeastWilderbeast East YorkshirePosts: 505
We have a huge lupin which produces over 20 flower heads, it's nearly done with its 2nd flush of flowered and is really drowning several plants. Would it be safe to cut this back by half to let the other plants have a go.

    Yep  :)
If it's that size, you could probably hack it back quite a bit. It'll produce more foliage too. Better for the plant anyway, and the surrounding planting, as it'll help keep a healthy airflow.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

@Fairygirl thanks for the advice, I'll give it a haircut later it's a beautiful plant funnily enough we got 3 plants at the same time and the other 2 are very weedily in comparison

Must like the spot it's in, although sometimes - it's just the way it is. They grow in spite of our efforts, and vice versa  ;)
