Mine get worms, slugs and anything else they find for themselves.
Ditto. I know we love our hogs, but I've had hedgehog families in the garden off and on for years. Never felt the need to feed them. It creates dependency. I feel exactly the same about wild birds these days, used to feed them, stopped now and it saves me a fortune. Still have plenty of birds in the garden foraging natural food.
They are the gardener's mate, so the more you feed them, the less they will clean up your garden of snails, ear-wigs and other wigglies. It's their delight to forage around for food.
‘Our’ hedgehogs come every night for their little fish of cat biscuits and a drink of fresh water ... but they spend most of their time rootling around in the beds, borders and veg patchpatch ... we get very little slug or snail damage 🤞
