Where is it sited? They don't like full sun and, if in a container, need an awful lot if water

A photograph would be helpful. If the leaves dropped off last year but grew again this, it is more than likely that it hasn't had enough water. They are tough, I've got one that got so dry that the bark on the trunk wrinkled,  then when I got it going again the deer ate all the new growth. Got it going again and it dried out again. Planted it in the garden and the hole acted as a sump and filled with water during the winter! Eventually we moved back to the UK from France and brought it back completely bare rooted in a plastic carrier. It is now of significant size, planted in a pot. It's neglect was due, I hasten to add, because we had to keep returning to the UK and it didn't get ANY real care. By the way, they like ericaceous compost.
  • Thank you, I think I may put it in the ground. I thought I was over watering but perhaps I wasn't.
