Geranium or weed?

LeadFarmerLeadFarmer Posts: 1,455
I have this starting to grow though my borders, I definitely didn't plant it but could have been in my garden from the previous owners, without me noticing.

Similar leaves to geranium, but I'm not convinced..

Well it looks nice, and it's spreading, but I can't recall noticing it until the other year, and I've been in this house for 13 years!!

If you cut it back to the ground in about a week or so, it will probably flower again, I have one very similar.

I have it too, but it’s a bit of a thug. Good ground cover, but it’ll self seed like mad if you let it.

Thats why you need to cut it back to the ground, no seeds and another lot of flowers later.

I have it too, at first I let it seed as I liked it but now I don't as it started to take over. Could be Geranium x oxonianum but there are varieties in that group.
