non female melons

I have 2 healthy melon plants in my greenhouse, both are full of flowers, but unfortunately non of the flowers are female!
The actual plants are 6ft+ but all the flowers are in the bottom 2 foot. Have I done something wrong? or do I just wait.

I find that the first flowers are usually male and the female ones follow later. Not sure why you don't have flowers higher up though. There's another very similar recent thread here which you might also want to look at.

I saw the other post, thanks very much for the info. I suspect I'll have to wait, I also have cucumbers in the polytunnel, and I suspect I may have to set up a stall with them, and also a louffa, no flowers yet but a huge plant!!
