What is wrong with my new peonie plant?

My new peonie plant is in the pot and it is turning its leaves brown. What am I doing wrong a d how can I rescue it?

    Looks like it's burning in the sunshine. Move it into the shade and keep it well watered (but not water logged). You will probably have to cut off the brown leaves, they won't turn back green I'm afraid.

    Do it now as it is in full sun a d will,  remove the leaves tomorrow morning. When it is cool..

    If water has been poured on/over the foliage, and it's then exposed to severe heat, it can be a problem.
    Peonies are very happy in full sun though, so it seems odd.

    How is the plant being grown? It looks as if there's a lot of mildew on foliage. Is the pot big enough for it? Does it have adequate drainage and suitable soil? 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
