ID on this little surprise shoot :)

Hello GW people!
Amongst my nasturtium seedlings, ranunculus and anemones a little attractive shoot has appeared that looks a bit like a lily leaf. It has pale speckles on the foliage. I wonder if anybody can tell me what it might be? Thanks in advance!

Hello - Indeed it is - a lily of the arum family and by the looks of those specks, it is a coloured one.  Look after it!!
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

We usually treat the coloured ones as non-hardy in the UK, but I always have a few that we forgot in the ground, and which survive winter every year.  A weekly dose of liquid feed during the growing seed will mean you are more likely to get flowers, and it will encourage the bulb to bulk up into multiple ones.

We grow them in pots, and keep them in the greenhouse over Winter.
  • Thank you so much @tuikowhai34 for the ID and thanks very much @KeenOnGreen for the care tips! It is my first summer in my first ever garden (rented) and so these little surprises are much welcome. Being down in Kent close to London, I suppose the mild winter was kind enough to it. I will certainly try to look after the little fella - it seems happy and eager enough in amongst it's current friends :)
