I have put my sunflower plants outside and now all the leaves are wilted. It looks like they’re dying. They’ve been outside about 5-6 days.

    I think the slugs and snails have been eating them ... possibly they're hiding under the slabs. 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    I agree, l'd be willing to bet they're hiding there. I think your sunflowers have had it sadly. Possibly if you cut back to the leaf joint they may reshoot? 
    What do you think @Dovefromabove ?

    I'd agree- eaten. 
    Not a very good site for them either I'm afraid  :/
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    is it worth putting them back in pots and trying to regrow

    No I don’t think so. 

    I’d start again with new seeds and a better spot. I make little individual cloches out of plastic bottles to keep the slugs off until the plants have developed bristly stems and  leaves as that seems to deter the snails.
