Please help ID this evergreen shrub with red "trumpet like" blooms

Grows in full sun in a friend's garden in Burton-on-Trent, in flower in June (probably May too) and was an absolute magnet for sparrows. Evergreen with glossy serrated leaves.

Thanks for the welcome! Spot on with the ID - it absolutely looks like E. macrantha too. Off to the (online) shops!
