Plant identification please

Do you recognise this plant? The flowers don't look as though they belong to the leaves-but they do!

    It will self seed if you don't cut the spike off but it's not a problem if it does. I find that quite often the "fan" dies and goes black after it flowers and seeds so to some extent you will need replacement self sown plants.
