Bourganvillea Vera Deep Purple

I purchased the above not realising it is a houseplant.  Could I grow it in the garden in a container and then bring it into the greenhouse or conservatory for the winter when the nights begin to get cold?  Thank you in advance for any advice.

You can.  It will often drop all it's leaves and looks dead if it gets cold, but as long as it doesn't actually freeze,  it will send out new leaves  and flower buds in the spring.
  • Thank you very much.  Would it be possible to grow it outdoors against a trellis, and not bring it inside, if I give it a thick mulch to protect the roots or would that be a step too far re cold?
