Phoenix Canariensis yellowing

Hi all , I've had this Phoenix for about a month now, all the lower fronds were slightly yellow at the end when bought but they are now mostly fully yellow or brown , a few higher tips are also brown.  It's fed and watered, should I remove those lower fronds now even if the frond is still green where it reaches the trunk, or just leave them, is this normal?   I don't want to hurt the plant especially when it's just getting used to a new environment etc

Normal. All these plants drop old leaves.
I assume the pot has good drainage? Sitting in permanently wet soil isn't great for them. Just as damaging as being too dry.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Yeah I ensured I bought one with multiple drainage holes and added gravel
  • Should I just leave the fronds until they are fully dead ?

Yes - probably easier. They can be very sharp, so take care!
