Can you identify this plant?

I've just seen the most beautiful plant at the entrance to a supermarket near me. The attached photo shows it's a grand specimen and I should be very grateful to be advised of its name. Thanks.

    I agree, cordyline australis in flower.  This is mine, a bit puny by comparison

    A lot of them have flowered this year judging by recent posts here, probably due to the unusual weather patterns.  Don't expect flowers every year - perhaps about once a decade.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
