Our conservatory doors are held in the open position by regular 'cabin' door hooks.

For the ones at the rear of our kitchen we have a door stop which I can only describe as looking like a Russian doll. It is made of fabric but weighted inside and probably filled with some small gravel or such. It has some 'give' in it and we basically just ram it under the door when open. Not very scientific but does the job!

I use cabin hooks too.  Easy to fit and look good too with the brass finish to match the door handles.

Thank you KT53 - seems like the cabin hooks definitely do the job . i will certainly have them fixed, such a pain other wise .

This is what I have on my greenhouse door. Unlike a cabin hook, you do not have to bend down or have a free hand to use it.

Are they the  upvc type @KEEPGREEN ?
If so you can replace the top hinge with upvc patio door restrictor arm off eBay. We fitted a 135 deg type to ours and they work well.

How about using a long bungee elastic cord wrapped round handle and then hook it onto something which you fix up outside near door ie hook.
I did that for mine and it worked very well!
