I thought I had sown Alium purple sensation, but obviously not. What is this attractive little plant?

    Thanks for that info. Shame to dump it as it is quite pretty. I will check to see how prolific it is. Thanks again.

    Unfortunately, it looks like one of the weedy Persicarias called Redshank (Persicaria maculosa) and probably not something you want to let loose in your garden by letting it seed:
    It is quite pretty though.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
