Viburnum tinus

We have several of these shrubs around the garden and each one is diseased in that the leaves are full of holes and have black hard possible eggs under the leaves.  Any help appreciated.

It sounds like it could be viburnum beetle.
Some info here from the RHS
There's usually an unpleasant smell around them too...

Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
