help with two trees that seem to be dying

Hi All

I was wondering if anyone can help with the two trees in my parents front garden. I am not sure what they are or how long they have been like this but any help with either tree to hopefully heal them or know what to do with the tree to save them?

Please see the pictures of both. I would be really grateful for any help.

I'd say long term drought related stress .
Certainly can't see the conifer ever winning any beauty prizes ever again.
