Carex evergold

I’ve a carex evergold in front garden it’s been there about 5 years now always grew well had no problems until now 
the centre of it looks like it’s dying ,like dead leaves ,I’ve combed them out not it’s looking great is anything I can do to save it

    It probably needs digging up and dividing.
    They need to be divided roughly every three years or they lose their vigour, in late winter or early spring, just before they come into growth.

    ok I’m a bit nervous of digging it up I’m likely to kill it 😂

    I would give it a miss right now because of the hot weather so probably under a lot of stress,just keep looking after it,water,feed etc,and then dig up and divide in
    late winter or early spring.

    yeah I leave it to is feb/March is that ok 
    are they easy to divide as I fear I will kill it 🙈

    That should be OK.
    Don't worry too much,it is a pretty forgiving plant!!

    great as I’ve quite a few different varieties of carex I wasn’t aware they need divide 
    so this old be practise
