Azalea growths after flowering

doma7614doma7614 Posts: 12
I have a small Azalea (I think) that flowered then produced some strange pod type growths. One has turned white now. Are these normal or a fungus of some kind? They looked normal to me but I've no idea. The started green, turned brown, and now white. What are these and should I leave them to drop off?

Thanks in advance for any advice on my first post.

    Think it's this

Seems there's no chemical treatment and they should have been removed before they went white as this is when the fungus is most infectious. I would just remove them now and give the plant some suitable azalea feed or liquid seaweed to help it recover.

My azalea had them last year, I picked them all off, there were loads!!  It's flowering at the moment,  flowers are smaller, but plant is fine this year.

Some years are worse than others.
If pos remove as many deformed leaves as you can and bin them.(not compost them)
Next year they may not have any.
