Contorted hazel question
in Plants
We have had a contorted hazel for some years. This year we seem to have several seedlings around the garden which we believe to be contorted hazel. The look like hazel leaves but neither the stems nor the leaves are curled. Is it possible that these seedlings have grown from nuts dropped by squirrels? Will they be contorted as they don't appear to be at present?

Could be growing from hazel nuts.
But they will never be contorted.
The Corylus avellana contorta are either grown from cuttings or are grafted.
Will never grow to be contorted.
