Identifying a Shrub

Hello,

Does anyone know what this shrub is? I bought it some years ago and can't remember what it is. Included a close up as well as flowers might help with identification.

The reason I would like to now is that it's looking a bit bare and wondered about pruning it.

Thank you in advance,

Robert

    I think it’s Enkianthus Campanulatus.

Don’t know much about pruning them but I suspect if they have grown tall with no leaves further down you can prune them down a bit to encourage new growth. You may lose some flowers so maybe prune half of selected branches and the remaining next year.

As soon as I saw the name it rang a bell, so I suspect you're spot on.

I can do some research now. Thank you ever so much.

And given that it's an ericaceous plant that has never had an ericaceous feed/mulch, it's no wonder it's not looking its best. I'll get onto fixing that tomorrow!

    Thanks again.

Good luck with it. Looks like a lovely addition to your border.
