Poppy?

Hi. This is supposed to be a purple poppy from T&M. It doesn't look like a poppy to me. The stems have thorns on! Any ideas?

I think that might be some sort of Cleome, certainly not a poppy! :)

Thanks BobTheGardener. I haven't sown any cleome and i used fresh compost in a greenhouse. So maybe the wrong seeds were in the packet.

It does happen.  A few years ago, lots of folk bought 'gardener's delight' tomato seeds (from various suppliers) but the plants which grew were something else which had yellow tomatoes.  A mix-up at the seed growers who supply the same seeds to many companies who simply put them in their own packets (and charge varying prices I may add.)  Because of the nature of these supply chains, things sometimes go wrong.

Well i shall keep them but move them elsewhere as it looks as if cleome grow fairly tall. Thanks for your help. Appreciated.
