White fungus?

LatimerLatimer Posts: 1,034
Hi all

I noticed this white fungus (?) on my Verbena bonariensis last night. It's this something to worry about?

Thanks
I’ve no idea what I’m doing.

Possibly a bit of powdery mildew. Plants that are stressed are often susceptible and the cause of stress is often drought. We’ve had a very dry spring .... I’d give them a thorough soaking at the roots every other day this week to make sure their roots can access enough moisture.

It looks like a touch of mildew.
I have lots of self-sown VB and some of them have patches too - I ignore it. The plants grow quickly now and soon outgrow it.
It's caused by weather conditions, usually too dry at the roots at some stage.
