Problem with leaves on young apple tree

Hi
this young apple tree was Planted 8 weeks ago and was looking healthy until 2 days ago when black marks appeared on a lot of leaves and edges (see photo). There was a heavy frost 2 weeks ago- could it be frost damage or something else?

Could be as you say, weather damage. Hot day-time temperatures and night cold. The issue is, recently there had been a long spell of warm weather and many plants have put on a lot of soft lush growth. Then suddenly cool weather and windy days, leaves will burn or wilt in the cold because they are quite young and vulnerable.

So long as you keep on top of the watering, that's the most important thing right now. Deep generous watering in the evening or early mornings right into the base. Your plant is still trying to settle in, so the priority is to care for the roots.
  • Many thanks for that- i’ll keep up the watering  :)
