Is this a weed?

Got these lettuce/cabbage-y looking things growing where I've sown seeds - I'm fairly sure it's not something I've sown but can't find it in any of the UK weed ID things. Not sure whether to leave them in or remove!

It looks like a type of brassica and may have come from birdseed.

Asian or mustard greens?  Yum in salad.  Could be Chinese cabbage.
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

  • Ah ha... @BobTheGardener there certainly is a lot of bird seed in my garden!

@gilla.walmsley I've had all sorts of weird and wonderful things popping-up from birdseed!  One of my favourites was a brassica of some kind but had white flowers, quite a lot larger than you see on veg that has gone to seed.  I suspect it was a radish of some type, quite beautiful.  I was going to collect the seed but forgot!
