Will my Pear Tree recover?

My pear tree was doing quite well I thought, not knowing anything about pear trees. 
But the wind over the last couple of days has blackened a lot of the leaves. 
Will it recover? Has anyone any advice? (I can’t really protect it from the wind when it’s coming from the SW)

    Yes, it will recover.

    It will grow new leaves to replace the damaged ones.

    Sorry to hijack the thread a bit but I noticed this morning that the dreaded Pear Rust (orange spots) has started to infect the leaves on all 3 of my pear trees, so you may still have that to come..  Pears are very frustrating trees at times. :|

    Oh I get pear rust on my trees every year (she says breezily) as my neighbours have a large cedar tree in their garden. I’ve given up on picking the affected leaves off as the poor things would be balder than Dominic Cummings if I did.

    Indeed - as far as I can tell just about every leaf is infected as per usual.  I live within a few hundred metres of an arboretum so there's bound to be at least one of the host species trees there.  Maybe we just need to rename them to "orange spot trees" which sometimes also produce pears? :D
