As a dog owner I really don't want cats on leads all over the place! :open_mouth:

Well it's preferable to seeing them sh*tting everywhere and endlessly killing birds etc. Owners could also pay out to keep them in their gardens by putting in the necessary measures instead of everyone else having to do it.
    Just a thought.... :)
I had cats in the past  - they cra**ed in our garden because they were shown/trained.
You must have enough to retire to the Bahamas by now @Hostafan1 :D
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

We once had an outdoors cat who would come in to use his litter tray.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

I've read lots that they don't actually kill that many birds, and only the ones that wouldn't have survived anyway generally.  We are short a lot of natural predators that we used to have in this country anyway so maybe the cats are filling a gap?

This is interesting from the RSPB:

Cats are psychopathic killers of anything they can get their stinking claws on.
    Birds, mammals, reptiles anything.
I hate , loathe and despise them with every fibre of my being.
    Devon.

I have to say I love having cats, Hubby wont let me have one.  I once had a lovelly neighbour with 21, she wasnt mad or old, the house was imaculate, no so my garden!!!.  I havent tried it, but I did read in an article by a vet I might add, they are marking their territory, and you can get a bit of poo from a friends cat, put in your veg plot, whatever the others wont use it.  My daughter has 2 and recently had to self isolaute, she is suffering from depression anyway, and going through the menopause, I dread to think wat would have happened if she didnt have the cats.
