Does anyone know what this is? It has grown up fairly rapidly by my daughter's front door.

Pretty sure that is an Elder (elderberry) tree Sambucus nigra.  Good in a hedgerow, less than ideal in that position!  I'd remove it before it gets out of hand.  If you can't get the roots out (they are infamous for seeding into cracks between paving and walls) the you may need to use a stump kliler after cutting it down.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Thank you. I'll suggest she removes it as bank holiday project!
