Shrub ID

LucidLucid Posts: 385
Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone might know what the shrub in this photo is? It's in the front garden of our potential new house we're moving to (almost at completion now) and we drove past today for the first time in ages and noticed the shrub properly for the first time. Was just curious what it might be but think we'll definitely be keeping as it is as looks as though it could have useful flowers for the wildlife etc.

I'm afraid that's as zoomed in as we could get for the moment so I appreciate it might not be enough for an ID. I did wonder if it's possibly a type of weigela?

Thanks for any help,

Lucid :)

It does look like a fine specimen of a Weigela. Closer photo of flowers would help.

    Definitely Weigela.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Thanks very much @fidgetbones, @josusa47, @Silver surfer and @Fairygirl. I'll have to make sure I take a closer photo when we (hopefully) move in, but it sounds as though it's some kind of Weigela.
