Its stubborn stuff, its been around since prehistory so its pretty difficult to kill!  I've got a garden full of it too, its very annoying.

You'll get a lot of different suggestions, but my approach currently is to just pull it up everywhere I see it, as quickly as possible.  I went out on mares tail patrols in spring and managed to catch most of it before it sprouted too much.

Last year I used weedkiller on it, but it took ages to die and made my garden look horrible in the process.  Then it still came back!

Thanks, There might be too much to pull out, I only had a little bit last year but it has spread all over this year.

What else is planted in the garden?  Do you want to keep anything that is planted?  If not, then use ammonium sulphamate.

Search on here there are a few posts from me on how to kill it.

    You can do it!

Or, just do what you can this year, but next year get out there early and catch the young shoots.

It looks like this as it pops up, and this is the time to get it to prevent it spreading even more than it already will!
