Size of Carrot Root?

I'm growing some Early Scarlet Horn carrots in a deep pot. What's the average size of carrot root I can expect from them? Everywhere I look it just says the size of the foliage.

Normally the seed packet will tell you what type you have bought.  Carrots vary not only with variety but the best time to crop.  Chantenay type are usually short and stubby and are ideal for growing in troughs.  Size of foliage is not really a guide so you need to check out your particular variety a bit further.

That's a fast-maturing short stumpy type suitable for shallower soils.  The length will be about 3 times the diameter of the top.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
