Wysteria foliage

koasterskoasters Posts: 5
Advice please, I have a wysteria that covers my pergola. It has produced flowers this year, though not as many as last year, but it is an absolute mass of foliage. I know I'm not supposed to prune the whippy bits until August but can I remove some of the foliage from branches that haven't produced flowers now? Not sure what to do. Other wysteria I see when walking around have more flowers than foliage. Mine is like the Amazon! Any suggestions, any advice.
Thank you

I just hack mine back when it's gets in the way so as long as you don't overdo it, it should be okay. Do you feed your wisteria at all?

Hello Lizzie27, thanks for your reply. No never fed it and never watered it. Gosh if I did feed it people would never find me or the rest of the garden :D
