Hi could you help me identify if this is a weed.

1st one is sorrel, 2nd is Aquilegia.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

1 is dock, definitely a weed. It has a long tap root and will re-grow if you leave any bits in the ground.
2 is Aquilegia, common name Granny's Bonnets. Not a weed, though it may seed itself around your garden - just pull up seedlings in the wrong place.

The first one looks like more like Broad leaved Dock (Rumex obtusifolius):

and the second is a wild aquilegia.

What is the difference between dock and Sorrel?

I think they're both Rumex,
@Lyn
, but sorrel has narrower, arrow-shaped leaves and isn't quite as much of a thug as dock...

What we call sorrel (Sheep's sorrel) is Rume
