My lovely Common lilac has flowered better than the last couple of yrs (3 yes old) but the lovely white flowers are turning brown on top now and I wonder if I should leave them to totally die off or cut them off?? Advice please
Entirely up to you, you don’t need to deadhead lilac but if you don’t like the look of the fading flowers then trim them off. I think you have to be careful not to cut too far back as next years flower-forming buds are nearby - I can’t reach most of the flowers on our old lilacs so have forgotten 🤔
