Pinching Out Cosmos

VoyagerxpVoyagerxp Posts: 635
Last year i planted some cosmos in my borders which grew tall and leggy. i was told i should have pinched them out to make them more bushy. This year i've been growing some dwarf cosmos from seed, has anyone grown the dwarf variety and if so do they still need pinching out?.

I’m trying trying the dwarf ones this year so I’m interested in any answers too. 😀

I usually pinch out the taller ones when they have 5/6 pairs of leaves.

The slugs ate the tops off some of mine so I consider them pinched .......

Very interesting reading about pinching out cosmos, mine are planted outside, need to be a bit bushier but not sure if I can pinch them out as they have flower buds:?

I wouldn't recommend pinching if they have flower buds........just remember to keep picking the flowers, they will be fine
