Yellow rattle

In the autumn, we sowed wild flower seeds in an area of the park, having first scraped off the grass.  It has now been invaded by sedge, which we are trying to control by cutting and pulling it. Some of the wild flowers are growing, among them yellow rattle, which we know weakens grass by parasitising its roots.  I'm wondering, as sedge is sort-of grassy, will the yellow rattle help to control it?

I have yellow rattle, planted deliberately in my “meadow” (Oooooh, get her😊)
and the only things it doesn’t seem to deter are dandelions and the various umbelliferae.

Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.
