Red / pink marks on apple tree leaves

Anyone seen this before? My apple tree has developed red marks on The underside of its leaves that are so bright they look like paint splatters!! It’s dropping it’s leaves too. Clearly not happy!! Help!

    They are tiny so all I can think of is a mite.  Although I have never seen it, there is one called red apple mite or european red mite which also has red eggs and might be worth researching.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    Thanks Bob. I’ll investigate those. I’ve never seen anything like it so completely puzzled 😕.
