New lawn laid 4 days ago and have noticed a few areas turning brown! Is this normal to lose a bit of quality whilst it is rooting? How much should it be watered? I've been watering from a hose on a sprinkler setting for around 40 minutes in total. Any advice gratefully received, I started levelling the ground and prepping around 4 years ago so if it dies I'm going to cry 😂
40 minutes over 4 days is nothing. Think what state bare soil would be after a light 10 minute shower and then allow for the grass intercepting the rain and strong breezes evaporating the water before it does any good. Drench the ground and the grass will certainly recover.
Thanks for the replies, I've just reread it and I meant to say I had been watering it for 40 minutes a night each area at a time until it sounds like its puddling slightly. I've lifted a corner and pushed my finger into the soil and its damp all the way

We've got 5 kids and a dog so need plenty of space for them all
