Pansies not flowering yet

Hey all. I planted some pansy seeds (‘Adonis’) at the beginning of March. No sign of flowering yet. Is it too early? Not sure how long they take from sowing.

I also planted some Giant Swiss Pansy seed in March, the plants are still quite small and I would expect flowers to be June/July.

Sowed mine in a cold greenhouse back in March. Swiss giants, same as GD. Still small plants in the cell tray in this pic. In the pot behind are two self seeders, bigger plants with first flower just showing.

Pic below is of last years plants which survived the winter. I cut them back in maybe late March early April. Now flowering again.

Last years plants were my first go at pansies from seed and I think GD is right about the summer flowering time for March sown seed.
My best guess for earlier flowers next year would be to sow in early autumn maybe? That might have been around the time those self seeders dropped into that pot unknown to me.
  • Pansies update they are doing fab now! Thanks all.
